- PuraStat® Introduction,  Application and Case Studies

Dr Matthew Remedios is a Gastroenterologist specialising in Interventional Endoscopy with a private practice based at the Wesley Hospital. He also has a staff specialist appointment at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.

He has been a member of the Wesley Gastroenterology and Liver Group since 2006 after completing his advanced training in Gastroenterology at the Townsville General Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. He completed postgraduate training in Interventional Endoscopy at St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, Canada furthering and developing his interest in Barrett’s endotherapy (endoscopic mucosal resection and HALO radiofrequency ablation), ERCP, small bowel balloon enteroscopy and large gastro-intestinal polyp resection.

Dr Remedios performs endoscopic therapy for dysplastic Barrett’s including HALO RF ablation at the Wesley Hospital Endoscopy Unit.

Presentation Title:

Plugging the Gaps in Endoscopic Haemostasis: 

- Endoscopic resection and risks of bleeding / delayed bleeding.

Dr. Neumann is Professor of Medicine and head of the endoscopic research
group at the Department of Medicine 1 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg
in Germany.
He is actively involved in basic and clinical research in the areas of advanced
endoscopic imaging. His main research focus is inflammatory bowel disease,
infectious colitis, colon polyps and Barrett´s esophagus. Dr. Neumann has
received a number of awards for clinical excellence and acts as a reviewer for
various journals including Gastroenterology, GI-Endoscopy and Endoscopy.
Overall, Dr. Neumann has published more than
150 articles, book chapters, and miscellaneous articles in the field of advanced
endoscopic imaging and on new and emerging endoscopic devices.
